The Hollow is a small company that came to be in the autumn of 2001 when Rea Burnett the owner labored over her stove to make handmade soaps and candles for her family and friends. She took her love and went public with it months later in the spring of 2002. Devoted to bringing her customers quality products with fair prices and a customized touch Rea has produced a company based on the simple concept of professionalism.
Soaps: I spent years watching several friends and family members suffer with the skin condition known as Psoriasis. I saw them spending outrageous money on medications, ointments, and creams that would work for a short period and would offer little to no relief of the symptoms. Upon looking at the unpronounceable ingredients on some of their prescribed medications I wondered if maybe bringing it back to the basics would help. It seems often in society we are so willing to pump ourselves full of chemicals when in the kitchen there is a plethora of natural ingredients that are available for our use that are just as good if not better with less harmful side effects. Do not get me wrong I believe in modern medicine, but the majority of minor ills and medications can be found naturally so why not take advantage?
I have been experimenting and making soaps for two years now with my friends and family happily being my guinea pigs. About a year ago when I was confident enough in my product, I started to sell it to others. My customer following swears by my hand made products and by word of mouth the buzz about the quality spread. (Which you will see in the testimonies)
Candles:Fed up by cheap quality expensive candles I decided to make my own. By now I was already head long into making soaps and developing a whole body care line. Finally with study and a lot of practice I was again confident enough to sell my line of hand made candles.
